This journey begins at the Ark Encounter, where a life-size Noah's Ark built to the dimensions in Genesis rises above the northern Kentucky hills, its three decks filled with exhibits on the flood account and ancient craftsmanship. At the Creation Museum, walk-through galleries, botanical gardens, and a planetarium take up scripture, evidence, and origins. Then cross into Cincinnati to visit the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, a museum telling the story of the secret network that helped enslaved people escape to freedom, and the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, where Harriet Beecher Stowe lived before writing Uncle Tom's Cabin, the 1852 novel that turned millions of readers against slavery.
Arrive in the Cincinnati region. In the evening, walk the riverfront past the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, the 1866 span whose engineer went on to design the Brooklyn Bridge, then gather for a welcome dinner.

Choose among the Cincinnati History Museum, the Museum of Natural History & Science, and an OMNIMAX show beneath the half-dome, or add the Nancy & David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center, which tells survivors' stories in the station where many first arrived in Cincinnati.
Spend a final morning at Findlay Market, Ohio's oldest public market, open since 1852. Browse the bakers, butchers, and makers under the market house roof, pick up something for the road, and begin the journey home.

On the road home, spend an afternoon and evening in Holmes County, home to one of the largest Amish communities in the world.
